March 10, 2024@NAChristakis, Great article! It jogged my memory just as I was beginning to forget! I agree that the vaccines were a scientific triumph and am mystified why this isn’t better “remembered” by the public.
However, I do think that flip-flops by the public health authorities, especially on masks and the aerosol nature of virus transmission, really undermined people’s faith in medical/scientific knowledge.
